Kheerni

 

Gather all ingredients together first:  2 minutes

Gather all utensils and lay out on counter:  2 minutes

Preparation time:  8 minutes

 

Ingredients:

 

Cashew nuts 2 or 3
Sultana/dry grapes 10
Almond 8
Elachi /Cardamom 1 or 2
Pistachios 10
Rice flour ¼ cup
Sugar ¼ cup
Milk  ¾ cup
Ghee/unsalted butter ¼ cup
 

 

Recipe:

 

  • Grind almond and cardamom into a powder (like small grains).
  • Boil milk in a sauce pan.
  • Heat the frying pan and add ¼ cup of ghee/unsalted butter; wait for few minutes.
  • Add rice flour and fry it for few minutes, then add milk and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add sugar, cashew nuts and sultana/dry grapes, almond and cardamom powder; stir it for a minute and then add the boiled water, stirring constantly till it becomes a thick paste.
  • Garnish with pistachio and serve it on a bowl.
